Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC)![]() Individuals who obtain the CIRCC credentials mark themselves as a proven expert in one of the highest paying specialties of medical coding. The CIRCC examination is a 150 question, five hour and forty minute exam. This exam covers basic coding, anatomy, and medical terminology, diagnostic angiographing and cardiac catherizations, non-vascular interventions (Eg. biopsies or ablations), percutaneous vascular interventions, and basic coronary arterial interventions. Individuals who wish to obtain the CIRCC are strongly encouraged to have a minimum of 2 years of prior experience and encouraged to have an associated degree, but it is not required. Because of the degree of difficulty in this field and the need for individuals who are proven experts, the CIRCC credential is both recognized and highly sought after by employers in this specialty.
