Dual OrganizationsIndividuals often choose to hold credentials from both the AAPC and AHIMA, such as the CPC and CCS.In such occurrences specific approved CEUs can be earned and used for both organizations . Since some CUEs are approved by both organizations and some are not, be sure to check CEU approvals prior to submission. MembershipUnlike the AAPC, AHIMA does not require individuals to maintain an annual membership in order to keep their certification.Membership does have benefits, such as lower assessment fees and discounted CEUs. However, as long as CEUs are properly obtained and submitted membership is optional.
